The Change...

" Wah, Hazriq. Makin tembam, eh? (Wah, Hazriq. You getting more chubby, eh?)."

That's was the reaction Kak Ayu gave when she saw me that Wednesday (21 September) at The Plaza, a spacious place at the new library building.

Hahaha. I smiled. Not another one.

"Perut dah nampak!" Says my Mum and Dad, almost everyday.
"Wah, Riq. Makin tembam sampai tak perasan tadi," when Suhaila, an old classmate of mine, saw me on TV during a theatre press conference.
"Nanti malam, jangan makan banyak sangat," said Musa, when I bumped into him at Minang Restaurant.

Of course, there're some other (or rather, encouraging) comments too:

"You have been working out eh?" asked Kak Khuzaimah, when she saw me.
"Abg Iq, pergi gym eh?" My little cousin asked when he saw me at the airport recently.

Anyway, my company had an ACTIVE DAY event at the new library that day . It was fun! Playing those activities and a chance to link up with other colleagues from other branches, whom we have not met for quite sometime. I was drafted into the Red Team - with the rest of the central region colleagues.

I think, the Red Team had a good camaraderie. Everyone was eager to participate and everyone cheers everyone during the various activities that took place. One of the activities we had to do was StepFITT programme. We had to climb up and down a platform for 3 minutes. Then our heartbeat was taken as the results. My heartbeat was 116. Nevertheless, we had fun! And of course, the self-introduced hi-5s! It was created during the Staff Party earlier this year when I hosted it, and I felt it was timely to re-use it again. It turned out positive!

And when they announced the Top 5 Fittest Male in the event, you know what? I emerged top Five!! Unbelievable. Didnt expect to win. The results were taken from the StepFITT activity. In the first place, I didnt even know that it was meant to derive the "fittest" staff, let alone winning it. I was talking to Wilfred when my name was announced. Shockingly, I went up the stage (I had to run to the front as I was standing right behind, at the end of The Plaza) to receive the prize, a $30 Royal Sporting House Voucher. Abg Nasir was fifth (with 119 heartbeats) and Indra was the champion (with 90 heartbeats).

I used up the voucher immediately on that very day when I exchanged it for my first pair of Futsal shoes, which is so timely as I need it on that Sunday for the Civil Service Club Futsal Tournament at Choa Chu Kang Sports Complex.

Abg Nasir, he was shocked to win too. But he jokingly said that this was "age-ism" (something like favouritsm, dunno how he got the term from). He said that there should have a category for above 40-year olds, so he can win First....!!

I replied, "At least, you have a heart beat." Hahaha.

Bujang Lapok! NLB's Fittest Males:
Indra (1st), Abg Nasir (5th), me (4th).
